Known Limitations#
With the Adobe Substance 3D Material extensions in Omniverse USD Composer there is a workflow regression. We will be working on a solution for future releases of Omniverse USD Composer.

Issues#
Workflow issue 1
Adding a 3D Material (SBSAR file) creates 2 prims in the stage. One of the prims is a reference that is added to a Looks scope. This is the prim that contains the actual material that is assigned to geometries. This is the 3D Material a user should be editing. The other prim is added as a payload to the root of the World prim. Do not edit values on this material. The changes will not persist.
Workflow issue 2
When one 3D Material (SBSAR file) is used by many materials in the same USD Stage the act of editing can become confusing. While changing attribute values all 3D Materials referencing that same SBSAR file will temporarily render the same in the 3D Viewport. Once the interactive editing is completed the materials will return to the expected state.
