Export View#

Use Export View to export one or more 3D views from the open Revit model. The exporter writes each selected view to a local folder.

Select Start Export after you configure the output, views, options, and mappings.

Include Drawings#

Configure the related options.

Enable Include Drawings to export supported plan views from a Revit print set. The exporter writes the drawings as textured mesh quads and places them in 3D space.

Each drawing requires an active crop region. Sheets and rendered images are not supported drawings.

The exporter places drawings under /{fileName}/Drawings/{publishSetName}/.

You can use exported drawings with the Section tool in Omniverse USD Composer.

Additional Notes#

  • Modify the material in Omniverse USD Composer to change drawing transparency.

Room and Space Export#

Enable Include Rooms or Include Spaces to export spatial volumes. Select a Revit color scheme for each enabled option.

The exporter places these prims under Instances/Rooms or Instances/Spaces.

Additional Notes#

  • An exported room volume can be smaller than the Revit room volume.

  • The exporter assigns a random or default color when it cannot generate a valid color.

View#

Configure the view settings.

You can export multiple selected views from one Revit model. Each selected view produces an independent USD file.

Use separate views to export worksets, phases, or other Revit categories independently.

Additional Notes#

  • An element visible in multiple selected views appears in each corresponding file.

Mappings#

Configure material and family mappings.

Mappings replace Revit materials or family geometry during export. Material mappings select MDL assets. Family mappings select USD assets.

Right-click an item to assign the selected mapping or remove its current mapping.
