Installation#

Install a Release#

Install the exporter that matches your Revit version:

Download and Extract the Installer#

  1. Close Revit.

  2. Open the public GitHub tags page.

  3. Select the required release tag.

  4. Download the installer for your Revit version from that release.

  5. Extract the downloaded ZIP archive.

Note

The add-in requires the extracted folder because the installer registers DLLs in that location. Moving or deleting the folder after installation breaks the add-in.

Install and Verify the Exporter#

  1. Run UsdExporterRevitSetup<Revit-version>.exe from the extracted folder.

  2. Accept the Windows User Account Control prompt.

  3. Start Revit.

  4. Confirm that the Omniverse tab contains the Export and Info panels.

The public GitHub tags page provides the supported prebuilt installers.

See the repository build instructions to build and install the exporter from source.

Uninstall#

  1. Close Revit.

  2. Open a terminal in the folder that contains the matching installer.

  3. Run the installer with the uninstall argument.

    For example:

    .\UsdExporterRevitSetup2026.exe uninstall

  4. Accept the Windows User Account Control prompt.

  5. Start Revit and confirm that the exporter tools are absent.
