Installation#

Warning

Please ensure you are using Houdini 20.x as the connector is only compatible with these versions. All older versions of the Houdini connectors (18.5 - 19.5) are available on the Omniverse Launcher until they are deprecated on October 1, 2025.

Install#

Important

License Agreement: By downloading and installing the Omniverse connector you agree and accept the Omniverse Software License Agreement.

Follow these steps to install the Omniverse Connector:

  1. Download the Connector Installer: Visit the NGC Catalog to download the latest version.

  2. Unzip the Package: Once downloaded, unzip the package to access the installer. The location you unzip will be the same folder as the plugin installation location.

  3. Run the Installer: Locate and run the .exe file to start the installation process on Windows or run HoudiniConnectorInstall.sh for Linux.

  4. Follow the Installation Instructions: The installer will guide you through the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

  5. Verify Installation: Once the installation is complete, you can verify that the Omniverse Connector is installed correctly by checking the following:

  • After installation, you should see the Omniverse Houdini Connector listed in the Windows Add/Remove Programs panel, indicating successful installation.

Uninstall#

To uninstall the Omniverse Connector, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Windows Add/Remove Programs Panel: This can be found in the Windows Control Panel.

  2. Locate the Omniverse Connector: Look for the Omniverse Connector in the list of installed programs.

  3. Uninstall: Click on the Uninstall button to remove the connector from your system.

Note

If you installed the connector in a specific location, ensure that you have the necessary permissions to uninstall it.

Legacy Houdini Connectors#

  • Houdini Connectors for versions 18.5 - 19.5 are available on the Omniverse Launcher until they are deprecated on October 1, 2025.

  • The Omniverse connector for Houdini 20.x will continue to be available on the NGC catalog.
