Kit 110.4.1 Release Highlights#

Release Date: 2026-10-27

Kit 110.4.1 is the first production release on the 26H2 branch, delivering targeted reliability improvements across the rendering pipeline, USD exchange tools, physics simulation, and scene authoring workflows.

CAD Converter 209.9#

CAD Converter 209.9 ships with Kit 110.4.1, bringing improvements to geometry fidelity and material completeness for JT and HOOPS-based conversion workflows.

Texture Support for JT and HOOPS Conversions#

JT Converter now resolves and packages texture images from JT files, connecting them to the corresponding USD material shaders. HOOPS Converter similarly preserves source UV sets, packages resolved external or embedded texture images, and connects them to USD material shaders. These additions close a common gap where converted assets required manual material reconstruction.

DGN Conversion Improvements#

DGN to USD conversion now correctly carries component colors inside shared cells, which were previously omitted. CAD Converter also resolves a scale error that caused some DGN meshes to convert at an excessively large size. Additionally, DGN Converter levelFilterStyle now supports the eDeactivate and eHide options, giving pipeline authors finer control over which level geometry is included in the output.

Material and Geometry Fidelity Fixes#

The Asset Converter now writes UsdPreviewSurface diffuseColor as color3f rather than float3, so converted materials pass SimReady validation without manual correction.

Public documentation and release notes for CAD Converter 209.9 are available in OmniDocs.

RTX Rendering#

Transparency and Alpha AOV for Refractive Materials#

RTX rendering now supports transparency and alpha AOV output for refractive materials. This enables render pipelines that require per-channel alpha compositing of glass and other refractive surfaces to extract correct coverage information directly from the renderer.

Configurable Outline Widths for Clash Detection Highlights#

ClashViewportHighlight selection groups now support configurable outline widths for viewport highlights, giving application authors control over how clash annotations are presented to end users.

Path Tracing and Volumetric Rendering Reliability#

RTX rendering is more reliable across path tracing and volumetric workflows in Kit 110.4.1, with corrections to render-mode transitions, volumetric fog output, and lens flare post-processing.

Fabric Scene Delegate#

Material Binding Updates in PointInstancer Prototypes#

With the Fabric Scene Delegate enabled, changing material:binding on a GeomSubset inside a PointInstancer prototype now correctly updates the render. Previously the viewport continued to display the previously bound material, requiring a scene reload to see material changes.

Instancer Freeze When Hiding Many Prims#

Fabric Scene Delegate no longer freezes when hiding large numbers of instanced prims. Previously, stalls grew proportionally with instance and hidden-prim counts, making large instanced scenes difficult to author interactively.

Geometry and SDG#

BasisCurves Guide Purpose and Streaming Fixes#

The viewport no longer displays BasisCurves prims with guide purpose when guide display is disabled. Asynchronous geometry streaming with Fabric Scene Delegate and UJITSO also resolves stale or missing BasisCurves renders that previously required a visibility toggle to refresh.

Instanced Prim Placement#

USD prims with instanceable enabled now appear at the correct location in nested point instancer scenes. Previously, such prims could be placed at an incorrect world position.

Motion Vector Annotator#

The motion_vectors annotator now returns correct XY values for animated UsdGeom.Points and Mesh geometry under the default UJITSO configuration. Previously, near-zero XY values were returned silently, producing incorrect SDG datasets.

Physics#

Physics simulation is more stable in Kit 110.4.1. Several crash conditions that could occur during GPU setup, deformable body operations, and CUDA lifecycle management are resolved, improving reliability across physics-intensive workflows.

RTX Sensors#

LiDAR Initialization and Measured-Pattern Replay#

RTX LiDAR now initializes correctly with any rayType value, not only IDEALIZED. RTX Rotary LiDAR also no longer restarts emitter-state selection at native scan boundaries, enabling correct multi-scan measured-pattern replay.

Render Product Timestamp Precision#

Render product timestamps in MultiTickRateSensorRenderManager no longer lose precision after sensor times round-trip between integer and double values.

Scene Authoring and USD Workflows#

Collect As Reliability#

Collect As now correctly handles dependencies on secondary Nucleus servers that are temporarily unreachable, rather than silently dropping those dependencies and rewriting texture paths to dangling local paths. MDL materials collected using Collect As also compile correctly when package paths contain encoded segments.

File Picker and Content Browser#

File picker breadcrumb navigation now correctly navigates to folders on mapped network shares that are visible in the tree view. The Content Browser no longer shows unset file timestamps as “01/01/1970 12:00AM” in file lists and detail panels.

Layers Unit Mismatch Warning#

The Layers UI now warns when inserting a sublayer whose units differ from the root stage, preventing USD assets from appearing at an unexpected scale.

USD to FBX Export#

USD to FBX export now correctly returns a failure result when no output file is produced, and subsequent export calls in the same session no longer hang indefinitely.

Animation Extensions Deprecation#

The following legacy animation extensions are deprecated in Kit 110.4.1: omni.anim.camera_tool, omni.anim.timeline, omni.anim.time_samples_player, omni.anim.motion_path.*, and omni.entity.spawn.*. Developers should migrate to the replacement APIs before these extensions are removed in a future release.

Async Engine Reliability#

omni.kit.async_engine.run_once() no longer blocks indefinitely in select() when a cancelled timer is due, eliminating a class of application hangs during app.update().
