SimReady Central Library#
Hugging Face is the place to publish and discover simulation-ready 3D assets through SimReady Central GitHub, giving developers a free, ungated starting point for physical AI training environments and AI factory digital twins. You host and version your assets in your own Hugging Face dataset. SimReady Central Library connects those datasets through a shared index, helping robotics researchers, simulation engineers, and application developers find assets for training, testing, and industrial planning.
As an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), you retain ownership of your digital twins and manage their releases and licenses. To get started, request collaborator access on Hugging Face. NVIDIA reviews your request and provides submission instructions after approval.
Overview#
Hugging Face brings versioned dataset repositories, download APIs, and access management to the AI community. SimReady Foundation provides the requirements and validation tools that help creators and consumers evaluate simulation content.
SimReady assets combine Open Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) content with the structure, simulation metadata, and validation evidence required for a target use case. Three parts support the publishing workflow:
Component |
Purpose |
|---|---|
SimReady Foundation |
Defines profiles, specifications, packaging requirements, validators, and runtime tests. |
Your Hugging Face dataset |

<asset-source-folder> with the path to your source assets and <company_name>
with your Hugging Face organization namespace.
Prompt:
Read and follow the submission skill at
https://github.com/NVIDIA-Omniverse/simready-central/blob/main/.agents/skills/submit-simready-assets/SKILL.md
and help me submit the assets in <asset-source-folder> to my Hugging Face dataset
<company_name>/simready-assets to NVIDIA SimReady Central GitHub.
NVIDIA Review Expectations#
NVIDIA reviews package completeness, the target profile and version, validation and benchmark evidence, and the declared license. The contributor instructions explain where to submit assets, receive feedback, and provide corrections.
Collaborator approval and asset acceptance are separate steps. Accepted assets with any license type, including non-commercial licenses, are included in Hugging Face search and the SimReady Central Library browser. Only standard permissive licenses (CC-BY-4.0) are distributed in China and included in Isaac Sim browser experiences.
Find and Use Assets#
Start with the SimReady Central Library Hugging Face Space to find registered datasets. Browsing public datasets does not require collaborator approval.
Point your agents at the SimReady Central Endpoint
or the simready-search Python package
to leverage natural language search. The Isaac Sim Asset Search extension
includes assets distributed under CC-BY-4.0.
Review the asset’s target profile, validation evidence, and license before use. Retrieve the package from the owner’s dataset and retain the referenced materials and textures. Use the registered dataset revision to reproduce a simulation with the same asset version.
Frequently Asked Questions#
The following questions cover collaborator access, submission, discovery, and licensing for OEMs and asset consumers.
Creators#
Where do I find specs and validators?#
The SimReady Foundation GitHub repository is the hub for all SimReady specifications, validators, samples, and documentation.
Where do my USD assets live?#
Your USD files are stored in your public Hugging Face dataset.
How are assets versioned?#
Hugging Face datasets are Git repositories. An immutable package URL identifies the dataset commit and package definition for a specific asset version. Retain those references so consumers can reproduce the version they used.
How do I submit assets and receive feedback?#
After collaborator approval, NVIDIA provides instructions for submitting assets and receiving review feedback. Follow those instructions for the current submission process.
Consumers#
How do I load SimReady Central Library assets into Isaac Sim or any Kit App?#
Use the Hugging Face CDN URL directly as your payload or reference path.
Use the Hugging Face API to download assets to your own storage.
Use the Content Browser Asset Search extension in Isaac Sim.
Licensing#
Which licenses are eligible?#
You can apply any license of your choice to your dataset, including a non-commercial license. Once you are granted collaborator access and your assets are accepted, they are included in Hugging Face search and the SimReady Central Library browser. However, only datasets licensed under standard permissive licenses (CC-BY-4.0) are distributed in China and included in Isaac Sim browser experiences.
Where do I set my licenses?#
Declare the license in the Hugging Face dataset card and in each package’s metadata. Keep the declarations consistent and follow the contributor instructions for any additional license files.
OEM Personas and Motivation#
Who goes through this process?#
The process is designed primarily for data engineers, asset creators, and pipeline developers at robotics and AI factory OEMs who build and consume simulation-ready digital twins.
What is NVIDIA DSX Sim, and why does SimReady Central Library matter to me?#
NVIDIA DSX Sim™ is the platform AI factory builders use to design and validate factories before physical deployment.
DSX readiness requires simulation-ready assets. With SimReady Central, partners have a unified library they can search to find validated assets to load into their digital twin.
Why do I need SimReady Central?#
SimReady Central enables OEMs to manage, version, and distribute their digital twins with sovereign control, ensuring researchers and consumers have access to high-quality SimReady assets. It is built to accelerate discoverability, quality, and publishing across the 3D content ecosystem.
Why should you contribute?#
You retain control over your digital twins and prepare them for discovery and use by simulation engineers. Discovery through NVIDIA services depends on asset review and indexing.
Why does this standard matter?#
Shared profiles define the structure, metadata, and validation evidence needed for a simulation use case. They help consumers assess whether an asset meets their requirements.
I already have CAD files. Why is that not enough?#
CAD captures what your asset looks like, not how it behaves. SimReady assets add simulation metadata AI factory designers need: power, thermal, and network specifications. Without that layer, your asset cannot participate in digital twin simulations that drive design and procurement decisions.
Why do I need to validate? Can I just use the assets I have today?#
An unvalidated asset may look correct but behave inaccurately in simulation, making any design decision built on it unreliable. Validation confirms your asset meets SimReady-specific rules for structural compliance, topology, and metadata integrity.
Where do I host and distribute my assets?#
Host on public Hugging Face datasets with defined licenses. This gives you control over how your digital twins are accessed and distributed. Start with your highest-value assets, then expand over time.
How do my assets become discoverable once published?#
Follow the submission instructions provided after collaborator approval. NVIDIA reviews the assets before acceptance. After acceptance, assets appear in Hugging Face search and the SimReady Central Library browser. Distribution in China and inclusion in Isaac Sim browser experiences are limited to assets with standard permissive licenses (CC-BY-4.0).
Who owns the asset once I contribute?#
The OEM retains ownership of its assets. Distribution is governed by the declared license and the applicable contribution terms.
