.. _Nucleus Workstation Setup: ============ Installation ============ Introduction ------------ This page provides detailed information for content creators, artists, and developers to get started using Nucleus Workstation on Windows or Linux. System Requirements ------------------- We recommend the following hardware minimums for installing and running Nucleus: * CPU: 6 core processor * RAM: 16GB * Drive: Solid-state drive (SSD) for better load times * Resource capacity: Unsure how much disk space you need? Start with 50GB and monitor system resource utilization; allocate more disk space if required Workstation versus Docker Distributions ------------------------------------------ This is covered in more detail on the :ref:`Nucleus Distributions ` page. There are two important differences between the distributions: * Omniverse Nucleus Navigator Workstation uses port 34080 and includes a System Monitor utility * Docker distribution uses port 80 and has no System Monitor Further information on Omniverse ports is shown under :ref:`Port Configuration ` on the Usage page. Install Using Omniverse Launcher ----------------------------------- Nucleus Workstation can be downloaded through `Omniverse Launcher `_. To begin installation, open Omniverse Launcher and click the 'Nucleus' tab, then click 'Add Local Nucleus Service'. .. image:: /content/images/nucleus_workstation_install_from_launcher.png :width: 300px :align: center Set your preferred data path and click 'Next'. Enter your desired credentials for the Administrator Account and then click 'Complete Setup'. Nucleus Workstation will now download and install. There are several ways to verify the installation: * Click the menu icon next to 'Local Nucleus Service' and click 'Settings' to bring up System Monitor. Check that all services are listed as 'Running' * Click the folder icon next to 'Local Nucleus Service' to bring up Omniverse Nucleus Navigator. Log in using the Administrator account * Connect to System Monitor by navigating to ``http://localhost:3080`` in a browser. Check that all apps are listed as 'Running' * Connect to Navigator by navigating to ``http://localhost:34080`` in a browser. Log in using 'admin' or 'omniverse' for both the username and password
