First Steps =========== To get going with Nucleus, the first question that should be answered is the following: **What is the goal?** * Is it a "trying it out / exploratory" type setup, or * Is it a setup for multiple folks to do sizeable work and host a lot of content? Based on that answer, either :ref:`Nucleus Workstation, or Enterprise Nucleus Server `, should be selected. Nucleus Workstation is sufficient if the only type of machine available is a Windows box or a VM and Windows expertise (or one's Linux environment doesn't permit launching container stacks (no root access), and no kind of real production work is intended. If the intended setup is for any kind of sizeable work, Workstation distribution will not suffice. Even if trying it out/exploring the tools is the only goal, someone familiar with Docker and with Linux hosts available, should use the Enterprise Nucleus Server distribution. Once the desired distribution is picked, proceed to one of the: * :doc:`Nucleus Workstation Installation ` document, or * :doc:`Enterprise Nucleus Server Installation ` document. Once the server is up, various operational and usage aspects are covered in the :doc:`Usage ` section.
