Rendering Basics
================

Selecting a Renderer or Render Mode
-------------------------------------

In |kit|-based |applications_short|, there is sometimes an option to select between different renderers or renderer modes.

In |composer| for example, different renderers or render modes are available in a drop-down menu in the `Viewport <../../prod_extensions/prod_extensions/ext_viewport.html>`__:

In |presenter|, you can select between *Draft*, *Preview*, and *Photo* modes, where *Draft* uses the |rtx|'s |real_time_render| mode, while *Preview* and *Photo* uses the |interactive_render| mode, and each modify the :ref:`Render Settings<Render Settings>` to balance the quality and performance for the desired experience.
