License Server Overview (Legacy)#

Important

As of May 2026, Omniverse is now free for development, production, and redistribution use with community support available through the NVIDIA Developer Forums and Discord.

NVIDIA AI Enterprise licenses are required to receive Enterprise Support.

Due to the license changes noted above, the Omniverse License Server and related configurations are no longer needed. The information below is for legacy reference only.

The NVIDIA License System (NLS) manages licenses for NVIDIA software, including Omniverse, AI Enterprise, and vGPU and supports two deployment models:

Cloud License Service (CLS) for Internet-connected environments
Delegated License Service (DLS) for on-premises or offline/airgapped environments

Both solutions provide dynamic license allocation and high availability and license configuration is managed through the NVIDIA Licensing Portal.
