Integrating License Services#
Overview#
NVIDIA provides two primary license delivery models for Omniverse, AI Enterprise, and vGPU:
Cloud License Service (CLS): A managed service that simplifies automation of licensing for Internet-connected clients and applications.
Delegated License Service (DLS): An on-premises appliance that hosts NVIDIA entitlements and serves licenses within your network, ideal for restricted/airgapped or offline environments.
Follow the steps below to set up a license service host appropriate for your environment. For detailed instructions, refer to the License System User Guide.
Additionally, Omniverse Kit applications must be configured to request licenses. See the Configuring License Extension section for more information.
NVIDIA Cloud License Service (CLS)#
Cloud License Service (CLS) instances are hosted on the NVIDIA Licensing Portal, eliminating the need to manually download and upload licenses. These instances are hosted and maintained by NVIDIA at no cost, ensuring seamless feature and maintenance updates.
To configure a CLS instance, log on to the NVIDIA Licensing Portal and follow the Configuring a Service Instance guide to allocate Enterprise licenses.
After the configuration is complete, add the client configuration token and API Key to your Kit application as described in the Configuring License Extension guide.
NVIDIA Delegated License Service (DLS)#
The NVIDIA Delegated License Service (DLS) is designed for private or air-gapped environments. It is distributed as a virtual appliance for installation on a supported hypervisor. Follow the detailed guides for the installing and configuring a DLS.
After installing the DLS, complete the licensing setup by following these steps:
Once setup is complete, add the client configuration token and API key to your Omniverse Kit application as described in Configuring License Extension guide.
